BIO
Sara Jewell was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. An only child, she was brought up by her single mother who worked in the construction industry. Sara emigrated alone at the age of 13 to the UK in order to claim her British nationality and attended a state boarding school. She later received a scholarship to study at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Sara trains in martial arts and is an advanced kickboxer, she is certified with a broadsword BASSC (British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat). She competed nationally in swimming and is a certified scuba diver. Sara speaks Mandarin with native pronunciation.
In 2019, Sara starred in $10k Grand Prize Winning short film LUNCH, directed by Dom Jones.
She was nominated Best Actress at Unrestricted View Film Festival 2017 for her lead role in feature film Shopping Channels. Sara's main role in short film, An Intimacy, was screened at Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner.
Her favourite theatre roles include playing "The Left Lung" in devised physical theatre piece Her Body is a Minefield (White Bear, UK). "Credit must go to Sara Jewell, whose nuanced performance provides a more intimate human connection with the audience" for her role as Violeta Imperial in Iphigenia Crash Land Falls (Bread & Roses, UK), SpyInTheStalls Theatre Review.
